Volunteer registration now open

Today is the day!! After you choose your volunteer slots; you should have access to register your children. YAY- let’s all do the ‘community happy dance’!

Please choose as many volunteer positions as you would like, but choose carefully as you do not have the ability to delete them. If you do need to change a volunteer slot, you can let me know and I will get you all fixed up.

After you have completed this on-line phase of registration, you are in the home stretch. Next week on Friday, Feb. 10^th we will have ‘phase 2’- the mandatory parent meeting and final registration. You will be able to tour the facility, and scope out where all the classes will be held, get the scoop on where the best places to park are and what new exciting things are going on this semester. And we do have some new-but not facility related- things going on this semester. Can you handle any additional changes? J

Final Registration Details:

· When: Friday, Feb. 10^th at 9:30 am or 6:30 pm.

· Where: Final Registrations meeting will be on FRIDAY, FEB. 10^that Westview Baptist Church 2500 Sullivan Drive - between Frank Scott Parkway and Hwy 161

· What to bring:

o TWO (2) copies of your billing form

o Separate Envelopes w/ teacher name, your child(ren) name(s), with the money inside.

o Checks are great, cash is great-correct change is beyond great!! The $10 Lyceum fees check should be made out to SCCCHE.

o Also waiver and release, emergency contact forms, and code of conduct signature forms should be available in the next few days- it would be great if you brought those!

· Who to bring: moms or dads, and children are welcome to come. We will have child care available. Children must be right with you or in the childcare room.

· Why: because your registration is not complete until you have attended the mandatory meeting.

There will also be an opportunity to register at 5:30 on Thursday Feb. 9^th. This meeting will not be at the Master’s lyceum facility at Westview Baptist church but will be held at First Assembly of God- our regular meeting place-So no facility tour. :(

TADA- finally!

Whew… we are almost there!!! Data entry is 85% complete- with realistic hopes of being finished tonight.

I spent yesterday afternoon at the church with my crew and we have room assignments almost complete. I am so excited about this new facility; it is just an amazing gift from God. And we are all going to get to know each other so well- it is quite cozy! I also finalized the registration dates and am ready to get you all signed up for classes… Are you ready??

Here is the plan:

Teacher On-line registration to open: THURSDAY, FEB. 2^nd (time TBD, just check in at your convenience)

Volunteer registration to open: SATURDAY, Feb. 4^th (time TBD, just check in at your convenience)

Open registration for those unable to volunteer to open: MONDAY, Feb. 6^th.

Final Registrations meeting will be on FRIDAY, FEB. 10^that Westview Baptist Church 2500 Sullivan Drive - between Frank Scott Parkway and Hwy 161 - this will be when I tell you that ‘you can’t chew gum” and where the’ best parking places are’ (among other things); payments are collected, waivers and emergency contact sheets turned in and final volunteer slots filled. You also will be able to tour the new facility and map out where your children’s classes will be. You may choose to come to Westview Baptist Church at either 9:30 am OR 6:30 pm Friday, Feb. 10^th. Childcare will be available. For those who have not attended Master’s Lyceum before, please plan about an hour for the meeting and then a little additional time for submitting payment and checking out the building.

If you are unable to come on Friday the 10^th, you may also turn in forms and payment at 5:30 Thursday, Feb. 9^th immediately before the SCCCHE monthly meeting. ( NOTE: It is going to be a great meeting and the kids will have a Valentine’s Day party option in the gym.) We will still have the informational meeting and payment will be collected, but this meeting will be at First Assembly on Fair Oaks Lane, so you will not be able to get your bearings at the new facility.

Lyceum Class schedule will run from Feb. 17^th through May 4^th. (This will give us a 9 week semester). Teachers requiring an additional week to cover material will be able to meet one additional week. There will be no Lyceum on April 6^th( Good Friday); and April 24^th. There is also one week the church was already spoken for… I think it is March 24^th, but don’t write that on your calendar just yet- I need to verify that date.

Keep an eye on your e-mail… there will be several updates sent over the next week. And please, please let me know if you have questions. I apologize for the sparse communication, but I am letting you know as soon as I can get dates and data entry finalized. Thanks so much for your patience and interest!

Coming together

Happy February

Things are progessing nicely, classes are being entered, rooms being assigned, syllabi coming together... Master's Lyceum is in the air! What an amazing blessing! Keep checking back as class catalog should be posted soon. Registration will hopefully open next week. Watch you e-mail inbox. :)

Volunteeer Registration now open

If you are willing to claim a volunteer position, you may now register for classes. Please remember to update the grade levels of your child(ren) before you begin.

New Classes available

We have several new classes just pop up... first Boyhood and Beyond (Shcultz)- a book study for boys/young men led by Austin Harrison 2nd hour.

AND several new Playtime classes are now available at lunch. when slots for these classes are full, your kiddos will have to stay with you. Thanks to these amazing ladies for stepping up!

Teacher Registration

Teachers will be able to register sometime Monday, Aug. 22. If you have any difficulties, please let us know. Don'f forget to update your student(s)'s grade level(s) before registering.

Data Entry ALMOST complete

WOOHOO! Things are rolling right along and all the classes have been entered. Teachers, please take minute to make sure that your classes are scheduled in the hour you requested and with correct class limits. The Volunteer information is still a work in progress, but never fear- it will all be there soon (Lord willing)

I have a ton of information for you, so please read carefully! Thank you in advance.

Just so you know- we are still finding some gremlins from the change in servers, so if you have a hiccup, just let me know and a gremlin removal task force will be deployed.

As you look around and register, you will notice a few changes…

1) Addition of a second God’s Princesses 2^nd hour, and a new Preschool Pass times class 1^st hour.

2) Changes in the Ladies book study- Lies Women Believe, Mrs. Hulsey didn’t think she could teach that AND Kindercapers first hour, so we moved the Ladies study to 2^nd hour. Sorry for that little oopsie!

3) I forgot to plug Unique Nails into the schedule in the catalog you all received at the meeting- it is 3^rd hour. Sorry Kerri.

4) Due to life circumstances Jewelry beading and Fun with Writing Prompts will not be offered this semester! We will miss you terribly!

5) And finally, since we do not have leaders for playtime for 3-5 year old OR 6-8 year olds, these are not listed in the class offerings. We need at least 2 TEACHERS for each of these age groups and then there will need to be several VOLUNTEERS for each level as well. What is difference, you may wonder… Well, the TEACHER gets to plan what she/he would like for the kids to do (that means if you don’t like kickball, you don’t have to play itJ), and he/she can set the class limits to determine how many students are in his/her class at playtime. OH, And she/he also gets to register early with the teachers. Volunteers are there as support personnel, frequently bringing up the end of the line. J Vital!

If no one feels called to play with these students, they will be able to stay with their mommas and begin eating their lunch early-but we will not just have free play from 11:30 -12:00 for those kiddos. In the past the playtime without specific supervision spiraled out of control-dumpster diving, rock throwing and all sorts of nefarious activities. (nefarious is a fancy word for unpleasant)

Please let me know if you have suggestions about how to move forward with this situation, or if you would like to play bubbles, chalk, double dutch jump rope, sharks and minnows and similar fun, large muscle activities, please contact me immediately! I will bring you dinner (NOT REALLY- at least not this week), but I will say Thank you!

Registration is Coming - We Promise

New Parent Open House Monday, Feb. 7th

Just wanted to keep you in the loop… here is the latest scoop. It seems that unless we want to give the Boy Scouts an opportunity to use their First Aid training as we all slip and slide across the parking lot… or I suppose we could don ice skates to get into the building and play bumper cars on the way out of the parking lot, we are going to wait until Monday to have the registration meeting. Here are your details- please read carefully as there are some dramatic, drastic and amazing changes! Please read locations of each meeting carefully as we are going to be all over the place,

If your family attended Master’s Lyceum Fall 2010, you may attend the Master’s Lyceum Open house (yep not a meeting, an open house- code for: drop by at your convenience)

Monday, February 7^th from 2:00-5:00

We will do this at CBC, not at FBC Fairview! CBC’s address is 4940 Benchmark Centre Dr Swansea (it is close to the intersection of Frank Scott Pkwy and Old Collinsville Rd.) If you have direction questions contact Julie (hhacademy6@gmail.com)

Please bring payment for your Master’s Lyceum classes –

*separate envelopes for each teacher with your family name and children taking classes. *Include cash or checks made out to individual teachers and

*Master’s Lyceum checks should be made out to SCCCCHE (cash is also fineJ).

*You also will need 2 copies of your Lyceum billing form.

The lovely ladies will take your cash, mark your billing form paid, you may ask Julie any questions you may have about this spring’s semester and then head back home. Since we hope the line will be short, there will be no child care for this open house.

****(Yep, that means if you came to Master’s Lyceum in the Fall of 2010, you do not have to attend the parent meeting for this semester- I know, the disappointment will be difficult to deal with, but we will make it through this together!)

If you did not attend Master’s Lyceum Fall 2010 semester, you will need to attend the mandatory parent meeting.

Mandatory New Parent Meeting: 5:30 on Thursday Feb.10^th at First Assembly of God, Belleville- right before the amazing monthly SCCCHE meeting. We will take your money, and mark your registration forms at that time also…. Please see above directions for organizing your payment. This meeting usually takes about 1 hour, childcare is pending (code for: I haven’t gotten that worked out yetJ)

There will be no computer available at either meeting this semester, so if you need to make any online changes to your registration, you must do that before the meeting. Contact Julie if you need help with your registration changes.

There will also be an opportunity to claim any available volunteer slots at both of these events. So please pray about your service availability before you come.

Oh, and of course, all of this is subject to change based on any other weather issues that arise, so please keep an eye on your e-mail.

Don’t forget Master’s Lyceum classes are scheduled to begin NEXT Friday, Feb. 11^th. Can’t wait to see you all soon!

Register Now

Hey all,

Registration is in full swing- please notice that the catalog is now outdated. We have made some changes to the schedule- hopefully they will help with your scheduling. We know that there are some age groups that have many more choices than others. A huge thank you to Pam Belmonte who has added an Astronomy class to 2nd hour.

The updated registration packets are available, so take a minute and read through that with your kiddoes and get your signature sheets signed and ready to go. As you look through the packet, the sheets I will need back from you are in the middle of the booklet. As always, please let me know if you have any difficulties or questions.

I am so excited about this semester! I can't wait to see you all soon!

Here we go again...

We are gearing up for the next semester of Master's Lyceum set to begin Feb. 11th-pending calendar verification. If you are teaching a class, I need your catalog information as soon as possible.

It is my hope to have the catalogs available at the Jan. 13th SCCCHE meeting. Please pray for my time management, and clarity of thought as we begin these preparations for Spring 2011 Master's Lyceum!

Oh and all the information on the webiste at this time is for last fall, so don't be confused...Spring classes will not be listed here for a week or two.

First Master's Lyceum class day Fall 2010

You will need to have all the backpacks ready to go and lunches packed on September 17th. Looking forward to seeing you!!

Mandatory Parent Meeting and final registration/Teacher meeting

The Parent meeting will take place on September 7th at 9:30 am or 7:00 pm, choose the time that works best for you. Child care is available.

Teachers will meet right after the morning meeting (usually around 11:30) OR at 6:00 PM. Syllabus and Signature sheets (you will get these at the meeting), and room schematics will be turned at this meeting.

Can't wait to see you all there!

Teacher Registration opens today...

God is good! I think everything is entered and we are ready for teachers to register. If you find mistakes, please let me know so I can correct them quickly. If the registration is open, you will see an 'add/remove classes' by each child's name. If you don't see that hot button, just be patient- we are working on it. :)

"Thank you so much" to each teacher -for your willingness to share your gifts and talents with our kids. If you have a friend who would like to register a little early, I still have several PE slots available... and if no one volunteers for those, we will not have playtime for those who are in unmanned classes this fall.

Very Exciting News... the catalog and registration packet are now available to you through this website- simply log on and you will be able to see the coveted information any time you like, or even print it off in your own home. Hard copies are also available at the August 12th SCCCHE meeting or from Julie Harrison. If you have any questions, let Julie know.. hhacademy6@gmail.com.

Please remember that any scheduling conflicts entered into the database will take precedence over the catalog information... repeating.... the information that will be entered in the Lyceum database will be the most up-to-date info.

Calling Fall TEACHERS

As preparations begin for Fall - yep, already beginning- teachers need to begin praying and pulling ideas together for the catalog summaries. If you are considering teaching, please pray, and then let me know what God is calling you to share with our kiddoes. I will need class name, age targeted, cost, class sizes, prerequisites, summary and supplies needed by mid June. Class syllabus will not be needed until later in the summer, but please be sure to thoroughly think through your semester, so you can cover your costs. I am so excited to see what God brings us this Fall. If you have any questions, please let me know,

Spring Semester Begins

Friday, February 19th begins the spring semester of Master's Lyceum!!

I hope you have your supplies all gathered, your back packs packed and your little people's clothes all laid out because tomorrow is the day!! I can't wait to see you all!

Be careful coming in the building, there is a a tricky, slick spot in front of the door. Hope to have it all cleared by the time you get there, but wanted to you all to be aware and careful. I pray you have a peaceful, smooth morning as you prepare to come to classes. See you in the morning!

Registration for those willing to volunteer will open tomorrow, Thursday Jan 28th. Don't know the time, but should be up for sure by mid-morning. Just choose your volunteer slot(s) and you should be able to get in and register your children!
Please note there have been some changes in the scheduling AND a few new classes have been added- A Christian view of the Holocaust 1st hour and Hands to Work at lunchtime. You will also notice several more hours of K'NEX, AND an additional classroom of Magic School Bus Science- thanks to all who made those extra options possible!!

Following these 2 requests will GREATLY increase the speed at which your personal registration is processed (meaning- you will get out of there much more quickly!!!

Happy 2010!! Spring is coming~

I hope you all had a restful New Year's celebration! We are moving forward - looking to spring! If you are feeling called to teach, please send Julie your class information by Friday Jan 8th. I will put the catalog together over the weekend and make the copies early next week! Spring semester is TENATIVELY scheduled to begin Feb. 19th. Registration would then be the first week of Feb. (probably the 4th)
